In 1991 my grandfather was having a little problem with some of his voters in Key West show me my boys from New Jersey flew in to straighten things out the little guy popping his head out is my uncle Tony my grandfather’s youngest son thats another whole story
Before moving back to Florida I spent two years in Coney Island finishing up my three year stay in New York City I wanted to photograph the boardwalk people and of course the evil wicked night which I’m famous for I dedicated one website just for that wild place topnewyork.com
My grandfather was famous for his hundreds of lines to pick up girls when he became mayor of Key West he had another thousand lines we are hanging out at his condo in front these girls walk by With bikini tops he told them he was the mayor of Key West and he was at a time instead of you take your tops off I’ll give you free T-shirts and you could come down to my bar for a free margarita they went for it I took the photo
Back in the very early 50s during the Korean War Sal was an undercover photographer for the OSS that was CIA back then he spent a lot of time in Indonesia he made a bunch of these orgy masks Noticed how the mouths were cut out He did a lot of parties with six of these masks Indonesia Cuba and above his brothers bar in Key West Captain Tony’s saloon I have all six of them eyes wide shut

Five years ago I received a phone call from a young lady she was about 45 years old she told me she used to dance at Mallory Square in Key West back in the mid70s she wanted to know if I had some photos of her She told me she danced in front of the bongo player and by Will the performer I remembered her and posted this on Facebook she loved it
