Back in the 30s and 40s it was the royal theater great movies and shows in the 50s it changed over to the liberty theater Elizabeth New Jersey Sal Performed there a lot It was also a famous mob hang out and these are all my great uncle Joey’s buddies Sal and Captain Tony’s little brother
What you’re looking at here is a very interesting two photos same day same location the only difference is Sal change the masks on the wall and the floor this was his mask studio in 1949 when he traveled with the world of mirth a Bizzarre traveling carnival This was his own trailer that opened up he would do mind reading acts out of it it would close down at night so he could sleep in it and have a little mask parties with the midgets and burlesque girls he told me some crazy stories Anyway this photo is from 1949 like I said but all those masks on the wall were made in the mid 30s but the New York worlds fair and 1939 sal traveled with this carnival for two years even did a magazine for them there’s going to be some crazy chapters about this place in our book in the Terracina Masquerade
