My grandfather Captain Tony was famous for many things he was always famous for having these incredible party boats in the late 50s he could take you to Cuba go to San Diego Bay beside incredible fishing he could take you to some great gambling places and bars of course he knew where all the wild women were when you got back he would take you over to his nightclub in Key West the original Hemingway bar he did this for many years while he was taking charters back-and-forth he was smuggling rum, sponges, and cigars I still can’t believe they made him mayor of Key West while he was running around doing all his adventures He always carried a-camera I have all those negatives an Prints I am his oldest grandson I was fortunate to work for him During the mid 70s and early 80s he is definitely one of the main characters In our book A comedic look at a sexually driven my family

This is my grandfather the famous Captain Tony with my second grandmother and my aunt Coral, he was a mob guy from Elizabeth New Jerse Who fled to Key West in 1947 they put a contract out on him he is another important person in this category and also in the birth of the Terracina book he ended them having four wives 13 children my dad is his oldest son 85 years old still running around Key West while my Grandfather Became a rum smuggling Captain working for the CIA purchasing the original Hemingway bar he ends up becoming mayor of Key West he’s another Terracina that ran around with a camera you will see hundreds of his images on this category of him and his adventures
Back in the Late 80s I was fortunate to work for A magazine called Mentertainment it was the only exotic stripper Magazine in America at the time there was a New York and New Jersey edition my job was to go to strip clubs all of the tri-state area try to sell them and an and photograph some of the girls I was getting so many girls to sign releases and getting so many bars to advertise we opened up Mentertainment Studios after all the smoke cleared in three years I published over 1200 dancers acquired 1700 releases and did hundreds of portfolios I think I might have the world record back then Anyway on this category you’re on there is 1000 images with some pretty wild stories Between my great uncle Sal, Captain Tony and myself you will see a couple hundred dancers You are also witnessing a birth of our book.

What you’re looking at is the largest drug seizure in the history of South Florida back 40 years ago I was very lucky to be the first photographer on site I was working for the Key West citizen newspaper at the time I heard about it through the grapevines a large Freighter was cruising through the international war away 30 miles of the shores of Key West it was packed with a 90 pound bales of panama red It was great marijuana 200 tons that’s what they seized on the boat the freighter already unloaded at least 30 tons there was also a lot of it dumped over board that’s where the word came from square grouper that month of March 1980 everybody and their mother had a garbage can of this weed We all called it the wicked weed to this day I have still been selling this photo this category you were on has hundreds of great Key West photos my grandfather Captain Tony took a lot of them from the 40s through the 70s I had to go over in the 70s and while both of us were taking photos grea

In 1925 Salvatore Terracina was 14 years old he was already sent to the Newark psychic center twice because he was reading his teachers minds he was also making some bizarre sculptures He even brought one to school for show and tell it was his father my great grandfather having sex with the housekeeper in a known famous position he was sent to public school he was so angry he made a Devil mask and A red cape and dressed up as the devil they were working on the church steeple and had scaffolding around it Sal climbed up at at night and started screaming like the devil, the police department and fire department came and got him down the church didn’t press charges they decided to take him under their wing and help the poor boy while he was working in the church he learnd to play the piano and organ and memorized all the church songs along with 50 Italian opera‘s by the age of 16 he was playing the piano professionally and doing a mind reading act there were many stories published a
